Back to School Organisation Checklist

For most parents, school resumes for Term 4 this week. Having had two weeks off, routines have gone and children have been enjoying lots of fun and relaxation, sleeping in, no homework and no pressure. Making the transition back to school, as well as daylight savings in the southern states, can be a better experience for everyone by addressing the most common ‘back to school’ organisation tasks to get you effortlessly back into your morning routine and back on a schedule. There never seems to be enough time to get all our tasks done. With all of the technology available, it’s never been easier to get ourselves organised. There are thousands of apps that claim to get us organised, remember things and complete our ‘to do’ lists. I’m often asked for recommendations of tools or resources to get more organised. A HOME INVENTORY - IS IT WORTH IT?

With the devastating bushfires in the Macedon Ranges and Mitchell shires recently, it's timely to emphasise the importance of being prepared for an emergency and having a detailed home or business inventory. A home inventory is maintaining a documented record of the contents of your home.
If your home is struck by a natural disaster your insurers will ask - 'what property was lost, destroyed or stolen'. The more thorough you document your contents, the easier it will be to have a successful insurance claim.
Too often, we forget about personal valuables stored in wardrobes, cupboards or drawers. Preparing a home inventory will help you remember what you have.
